Who is Monumize for?

Do I need CAD experience?

No. You upload a phone photo, pick a font, and type the new inscription. We hand you files that open directly in AutoCAD, Fusion 360, CorelDraw, or any sandblast workflow your shop already uses.

Do I need special equipment to take the photo?

Any phone camera works. The only requirement is that a reference object — a US quarter, a standard credit card, or a Monumize calibration card — is in the frame next to the stone so we can calibrate measurements.

How accurate are the measurements?

Accepted Answer

When a quarter or credit card is in the frame, the AI calibrates stone dimensions to within a few millimeters. You see the detected width, height, and depth before you commit and can override any value that looks off.

What if the AI gets the font wrong?

You pick the font yourself from eight monument-industry options. The AI suggests a starting match based on the existing lettering on the stone, but the final font choice is always yours.

How many previews do I get per job?

Up to three AI renderings per job before checkout. That is almost always enough to land on the right look. After payment, you can regenerate additional previews for typo fixes on the same layout.

What file formats do I receive?

DXF for CNC routers and laser cutters, PDF for a proof document with dimensions and font name, and PLT for plotter-driven sandblast masks. All three are generated from the same underlying geometry so they stay consistent with each other.

Are the measurements in inches or millimeters?

Both. Inches are the primary unit throughout the app and the DXF ($INSUNITS = 1, inches). Millimeters are shown in parentheses next to every dimension so international partners are never guessing.

How much does Monumize cost?

Creating an account and running the AI analysis is free. You only pay a flat per-inscription fee when you are ready to download the cut files. The current rate is shown at the checkout button inside the app.

Can I try it first?

Yes. Sign up, upload a stone photo, and generate a preview — all at no cost. You are not charged until you click the "Get cut files" button.

When am I charged?

Only after you approve a preview that you are ready to cut. Stripe handles the transaction; we never see your card.

Do you offer volume discounts?

Yes. If your shop ships more than a handful of inscriptions a month, reach out and we will set up a volume plan. Otherwise the pay-per-job rate applies.

Is my data private?

Every account is isolated by Supabase Row Level Security — nobody else can see your jobs or files. Staff access is audit-logged and limited to support cases you have opened.

What happens to the photos I upload?

They are stored in a private bucket on your account. They are used to generate your previews and cut files, and nothing else. We do not train models on your uploads.

Do you moderate inscription text?

Yes. Every inscription is screened for slurs, harassment, and obvious vandalism before we spend compute on a preview. Names, dates, loving memorials, religious phrases, and short quotes all pass cleanly.

Can I re-download the files later?

Yes. Paid jobs stay in your dashboard and all three file formats can be re-downloaded from the job page at any time.

What if my shop needs a different format?

Most CNC, laser, and sandblast workflows consume DXF or PLT natively. If you need a format we do not ship today, tell us which one — we prioritize the list based on real customer requests.
